About Me

When I was a teenager, I wanted to be an actor. But I felt disheartened about the kinds of roles and the lack of roles for people like me. Still, I loved everything about making movies so I started making my own. After some time at the Sundance Filmmaker Labs and years on the festival circuit with many successful films, I learned my stories have value as does my voice.

It’s taken a long time, but the industry at large has also learned that Indigenous stories and voices are valuable. There are roles now for people like me! My kid is growing up in a world seeing our people on screen in uplifting and heroic ways. I’m thrilled I get to be part of this movement.

Some movies and shows I love: Reservation Dogs, Rutherford Falls, Outer Range, Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects, Fleabag, Sex Education, Boy, Slashback, Night Raiders, Rosie, Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Random things I love: Canoe trips, Princess Leia, pie, Indigenous designer earrings, nice hotels, Mohawk language, shrimp, rings, shrimp rings.

I want to work in inclusive spaces on stories that reflect my lived experience. I want more laughter, more hope and more love stories onscreen that feature people who look like me.
